Maine's County Fair
This weekend we went to the county fair. They had drag racing, cow judging, pig races and much more. W.e got some awesome fried dough. I wanted to get some fried Oreo's but dad said no. I went on a ride called the Octopus and the door of my car popped open some !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I went on a swing ride. On our way back home, we stopped at some rapids. They were cool. Then we went to a farm and pet a baby cow and a rabbit while my mom pet a baby pig. The baby cow tried to eat Mady's pony tail!
Mom's note: This is Nick's first blog entry!
Jersey to Maine: We left Jersey and drove through NJ, NY, CT, MA, NH, ME. That was 6 states in one day!!

Jersey
We have been enjoying spending time with all of the Monaghan family in Jersey! The kids are having a great time with cousins to play with 24/7!
Mady enjoyed her birthday with a bunch of her cousins at the bowling alley. We have gone to the Jersey Shore. Gone camping with cousins.
Enjoyed some GREAT ITALIAN food! The Jersey cousins are both Irish and Italian. Needless to say, there is always a good time to be had with plenty of food!!!
We enjoyed sightseeing in Philly and Janice and Rebecca went to NYC for a day!
There is so much going on, it is hard to remember everything and everyone! All I know is we are having a great time with all of our family!!! :D

Virginia and DC Area
We have been in Virginia now for just over a week. We have been very busy for the last week!
We started our stay with a 2 day trip to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. These three stops covered in two days was full of History that came to life for the children.
From dressing up to loading a cannon, we were busy exploring. The really cool thing was Mady is studying a lot of this stuff in 3rd grade, so we have jump started the year in History!!!
After relaxing for a day, we headed to Church on Sunday that was fantastic and then off to the Marine Corps Museum and finally the town of Quantico!
Finally we went to Washington DC on Monday afternoon. We walked and walked and walked. Got to see the children's section of the Holocaust Museum, The White House, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Vets Memorial, Korean War Memorial, World War II Memorial and Finally a ride up to the top of the Washington Monument!
So I was explaining to Mady that the White House is where the Obama Family lives. That our President lives there with his wife and daughters! She thought that was pretty cool, so she was excited to go there. So as we arrive to the gate at the front of the White House, she says, "Momma, It's hot!!! Don't we get to go inside? I need a drink and a snack!!!" She didn't understand shy we couldn't go get a quick snack with Obama and his family! She wanted to play with his girls!!!!!!
Today it is hot! With the heat index it was something like 103!!! Whew! Thankful a cold front is supposed to come through by tomorrow evening and stay cool through our departure!!! Thank You Lord!!!!
Oh ya, Mady caught a beautiful butterfly!! It landed on her little hand! She was very proud!
Enjoy our pictures, starting with the first which was me showing off my Birthday Decorations! Eric and the kids surprised me by decorating the trailer!!! :)

The Blue Ridge Mountains
So...we were going to all go for a beautiful ride in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
The first day at our new campground, the kids decided to take a short cut to the lake. Nana decided she was going to go with them, she just needed to grab her walking stick. So down the hill they went...and that's just what Nana did....down the hill, but not on her feet...she rolled!! :/
So we decided that she was a bit to sore to sit in the car all day the next day so we postponed it. The boys decided they didn't want to drive all day so they were going to go fishing.
So Friday arrived...and Eric woke up sick! No fishing for the boys! On the road the girls went! Granddad, Nana, Rebecca and Mady.
Rebecca figured we were just going to be driving and seeing cute little town on this fabulous road, so she decided to dress Mady and herself pretty!
Needless to say, we stopped at a beautiful stop to hike a mountain so we could go see the Linville Falls! Up the mountain Mady and Rebecca went with their flip flops. hmmmmmm...funny....we were the only ones with flip flops on!!!! OWELL....We sure looked pretty doing it. Eric said if anything happened to us it wouldn't be a problem because we had enough bling on to signal someone for help!!!!
