A Visit From our Friends

We were so excited when our friends from California who now live in Texas came to visit us for a couple of days.  The Kennedy Girls came to camp with us!  We had a great time hiking the trails and swinging from the vines!

Christmas

Christmas was fantastic!  We went to Becca's Great Aunt Jewell's House!  She has a chimney, so Santa had no problems finding us!

Walkin On Water

Today we went shopping...and the kids got to walk on water.  OK, they were in a bubble!  It was a lot of fun!  And of course we want to share our deer with everyone!  Here are just a few of our many deer....

Steak and Potatoes

The weather has been BEAUTIFUL!  Enjoying sleeping with the windows open!

Tonight, the boys played XBox outside, while Eric BBQ some steaks.  Mady and Grandad went for a bike ride and Becca painted her nails.  Then we enjoyed our Steak and Potatoes outside!  In December!  Gotta love it!  The boys are outside getting their fishing gear ready for tomorrow.

Oh, I didn't post my little disaster!  After my last post, I went to bed around Midnight.  The kids spent the night over at Nana and Grandad's because I was going to pick Eric up at the airport around 4:30 am.  So I was asleep for about 20 minutes when I woke up to the sound of water and what I thought was smoke!  I unplugged the heater, dialed my dad...Emergency, Emergency!!!  Grabbed the cat and ran out the door to Nana and Grandad's Trailer.  Well, A LOT of water later, something had busted and the problem wasn't to big!  What I thought was Smoke, was actually steam from the Warm Water that was flowing out of the pipe!  WHEW!

Houston Children's Museum

Thursday, We went to the Houston Children's Museum.  The kids LOVED it!  We played hard, and I think dad (Bob) had just as much fun, if not MORE!!!  At one point, I asked mom where dad was, and she said, he's in the art room stamping!  He say's he was making a paper airplane!

Nick loved this one area called Kidtropolis.  It is a town that is run by kids.  He said, I need to go find a job.  He tried being  Weatherman, a Pet Groomer, but in the end, he decided he wanted to be a banker.  He said there's lots of money there!

They have these little cards, that you could put into a fake ATM and Nick just loved earning money and depositing it into his account!

Mady on the other hand, enjoyed reporting the News, (although she laughed the entire time), working as a Vet, and her favorite working in the grocery store!

Friday, we spent most of the day working on school!  I don't want you guys to think that we never doing anything but play.  :)  They had spelling tests, Nick had a 8 page History Mid Term Exam, Mady had a Phonics test, and Nick a Language test.  WHEW!  I then recorded all of their grades and filed all of their worksheets and tests!

We did take a break however in the middle of school and went on a new trail.  It is a great Bike Trail.  As we came around a corner, there were 3 deer.  They were so cute with their little white, fluffy tails!  They ran to one side and then we crossed paths a few feet later and they decided we weren't a threat!  We continued on down the trail and came across a couple of Armadillo shells.  I didn't know Armadillo's had shells!  We then went across a few bridges and back home.

Today, Saturday, Mady, Mom and I went on a little adventure.  We went to a furniture store and IKEA.  It was crazy busy everywhere, but we had a nice day!  Nick stayed home with Grandad.  They like to ride their bikes, hike new trails and go fishing.

That's our adventures for the last 2 days.  Hope you enjoy our pictures of Nick and Mady at the Children's Museum!

Sam Moon

For those of you who don't habla, Sam Moon is a hand bag/jewelry store in TX. For those of you who do, while at Sea World the other day, Miss Mady wanted to know when we were going to get to see "sam moon" (aka, Shamu). We laughed, didn't think Shamu would enjoy the hand bag store.

Updating from over New Mexico, 38000'. No... Im not flying, just riding to work.

Oh yeah, I didn't select the jelly bean background and pink writing. Eric

Couple of fun stories...

Just a couple of fun stories for those of you who missed the facebook posts...

Nick was a bit sick with a stomach ache.  I was cooking dinner and he wanted me to make him a bean burrito.  I told him NO...you have a sick stomach...he continued to argue, so finally I told him, "Nick, what does the song say, 'Beans, Beans, the magical fruit, the more you eat, the more you toot!'"
Nick's reply was, "Finish the song mom, 'The more you toot, the better you feel!'"
How could I deny him after that arguement!  :)

Later that evening Eric went to take the trash to the dumpster.  Mind you, we are in a state park, so there is lots of wildlife.  He said he got there and was a bit afraid, but thought, oh, what could possibly be in there.  So he lifted the lid and threw the trash in.  He then turned around and saw a SKUNK starring at him!  :O  HE SAID HE RAN AS FAST AS HE COULD!  The next bag waited till morning to go to the dumpster!

Nothing Much Today

Today it is warm.  About 75!  Nothing much going on...just trying to figure out how to change the backgrounds and add pictures.  Please note....We are decorated for Christmas!

Probably more than you want to know, but it sure is awesome to go to the bathroom and look out the window and watch the deer!

We are working on pics

Please stand by....

Day 3..... but who's counting.

We are!!! Every day brings some new adventure. The 11th included hanging with Santa and a hay ride in park. The 12th, Sea world.... if you want the park to yourself...... go when its cold. I don't think there were more than 300 people there. We pet a Penguin, pet Dolphins, fed the Otters and Sea Lions, rode the rides... repeatedly!!!
The 13th.... A state park with just 6 campers in it. LOL.... No lack of room to ride, hike, etc.....

WE'RE OFF!!!!

Dec 10, 2010

Today we took off for our family adventure. The morning started out with Bob saying that something was leaking from our vehicle as we rolled down "THE" 30.... What was you asked??? A 3 gallon jug of water!!!! It  had fallen over and was leaking out the back. Whew..... nothing wrong, crisis adverted!!
